Welcome to SMSA – Swedish Medical Students Association – Stockholm

As a part of the SMA (Swedish Medical Association), the SMSA is an organ representing the medical students of Sweden. The organization is based on a national board and seven local boards (one at each university with a medical faculty).

On a national level, the main focus of the work is representation at a national and European political level, whereas the main focus of the local boards are issues chiefly concerning the students at the particular medical faculty.

Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement are two parameters of medical education that are of great importance at all levels of discussion. The Stockholm district focuses it’s work on the education and environment at the Karolinska Institute and in the capital area.

The SMSA can help you if you have any questions regarding the medical education and, through it’s connection with the SMA, questions concerning the organization of the medical profession in Sweden.
